BOXING DAY DRAMA

This year's Boxing Day Pursuit Race for the Keene Cup brought high drama and a huge departure from the form book. Places were changing throughout the race as the faster classes such as the Finn, OK and Lark caught up and passed the slower boats such as the Solo and 2.4m who started first. Nick Craig, who won this year's Finn National and OK World Championships as well as the coveted Endeavour 'Champion of Champions' Trophy was widely tipped to win in pre-race betting, but Brian Grimwood grimly hung on to the lead to take the silverware. Nick Craig could only manage second while Tim Deacon in his Solo finished a very creditable third. Every dog has it's day, and Brian's certainly had his. Well done! Christmas presents don't often get better than that!
